We minister to real people, with real lives in a real world.
We are also not restricted to worshiping in adorned buildings but to take our ministry and work out to the people.
We believe that the church is not the building with its icons and rich trimmings, but the people that belong to and seek the welcome that is provided to all people
St Sebastians is a real church in a real world. We are legally bound by a written constitution and also by extensive rules and laws that ensure that all our priests and churches are legally binding in all the countries that we work.
We don't have the need for fancy titles for our clergy members and nor do we use them, we do have an International Synod with a full leadership team that takes care of the overall ministry of the church both in Gran Canaria and also globally and unlike other churches we have an elected leader rather than an appointed one. The membership of the church and international community are the people who make the decisions on the running of the churches and fellowships collectively as one church united in the one body of Christ.
Because we believe in a ministry that is open, vibrant and available to all people, you will see our priests and lay workers interacting in the life of the community in which they live and work. Whether that's in Bars and Clubs, Shops and Restaurants or just walking down the roads. We are a visible ministry not hidden behind closed doors. Again following the example of Christ who went out to minister to all people.
St Sebastians does openly support all sectors of the community, we do not discriminate against anyone and we also fully support the involvement of all people in all sacraments of the church and the community.
All of our priests are inclusive - that is that we have male and female priests without distinction. All our priests are personally ordained under apostolic succession and all are trained in ministry. We do not support internet ordinations
St Sebastians is a living and forward thinking unified Christian Community. We put the needs of the people first and not Politics.
